Approaching Snow Safety in New Zones with the Utah Avalanche Center

Posted by Jessa Munion on

The 2017/2018 snowpack was funky here in the Wasatch.  It forced many of us to hit the road and explore new zones in search of pow and adventure.  In that pursuit, we find ourselves in precarious situations at times due to new terrain and unknown snowpacks.  This UAC discussion will be a 2 part where Andrew McLean, local legend & expedition skier, will be sharing some insights on how he assesses snowpack in new zones.  Then the UAC will offer some knowledge on how to approach and read Avy forecasts in well traveled zones such as the Tetons, the Pass, and Bozeman.  This event is a UAC fundraiser where all proceeds will go to benefit the UAC.  Come join the discussion!
