They constantly push themselves to know the most and be the best, holding themselves to the highest standards in the profession simply because they believe in the power of the work that they do. It is because of them that our clients are happy, strong, healthy, and loyal. These people make lives better and we love them.

I always knew I wanted to work in the world of health and healing. Though, I never really knew in what way. Massage therapy frequently sat in the back of my mind.

After years of trying to figure out what to do and passionless corporate jobs, I followed a whim and enrolled in the Holistic Health Practitioner program at Healing Mountain Massage School. I graduated in the Summer of 2022 and now, I absolutely love what I do. The world of holistic health has opened my mind so much and I have loved exploring avenues such as herbalism, sound healing, and reiki energy work along with several kinds of bodywork therapies.

My approach to this work is one of curiosity and wonder. I don’t believe massage has to just be either “fluff and buff” or “tough and rough”. I have received training in a high variety of technical, as well as energetic modalities and believe that the deepest healing comes from finding that perfect balance of techniques, personalized for each client. I practice intuitive touch, to listen to your bodily cues and create a unique session just for you, with each visit. I truly love this work and love seeing bodies change, reset, and come back into harmony. I'm very excited to work with the Rocksteady clientele and look forward to a continuation of learning and growth in this new career.

My intention as a massage therapist is to create a safe, supportive space
where clients feel deeply cared for while receiving high-quality bodywork. My
approach is nurturing yet effective, making it especially beneficial for
clients with up-regulated nervous systems, experiencing burnout, or seeking nervous system regulation.

Before becoming a massage therapist, I had a 9-year career as a professional
ballet dancer, which gave me a profound understanding of physical movement as
well as the mental pressures of high-performance athletics. Since retiring from dance, I continue to share my knowledge by teaching ballet and yoga. These experiences have shaped a holistic perspective that informs my work today.

In our sessions, you can expect a calm, grounded presence and a genuine
commitment to supporting you in pursuing your passions and thriving in your body- however that looks for you.

I knew I found my life calling after finding massage therapy school. When, just like a happy little seed, I grew and flourished in this newfound passion and appreciation for the human body as I studied anatomy, kinesiology, and a host of bodywork modalities.

Since graduating in 2023, I have loved working in the field, connecting with individuals in their healing process and honing my skills in deep tissue and energy work. In a session with me, you will find me entirely focused, honing in and listening to the body. I am extremely passionate about this work and love to problem solve with clients about where their pain is coming from, and work WITH them to find and release it.

Oftentimes incorporating energy work to release old tension patterns and stored trauma. I am very excited to be a part of Rocksteady as I continue to sharpen my tools and help facilitate and witness the beautiful healing of body, mind and soul.

Therapist

A deep understanding of anatomy and the subtle body shapes my approach to
deep-tissue massage. My goal is to activate the parasympathetic nervous system so clients can fully relax and drop into their bodies while I work through dysfunctional patterns that no longer serve their health and wellbeing. Clients often leave feeling relaxed, worked, lighter, and more at ease in their bodies and selves.

During my tenure at Rocksteady, I’ve had consistent success supporting pain
management related to sciatica, scoliosis, upper-cross syndrome, tennis elbow, rotator-cuff injuries, hypermobility, thoracic outlet syndrome, adhesive capsulitis, post-surgical rehabilitation, and many other concerns.

I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life and with a wide range of
health goals—from professional athletes and weekend warriors to endurance
lovers, yogis, beginners, and those seeking relief in aging or traumatized
bodies.

I deeply value the holistic wellness model at Rocksteady and believe in the powerful combination of bodywork and intentional movement. Clients can expect clear, specific movement recommendations to support the work we do together.

Makala Gomez

Therapist

I completed my studies at the Lexington Healing Arts Academy in Kentucky, where I built upon my passion for Kinesiology and movement.Having traveled across the U.S. for climbing, trail running, and snowboarding, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the body’s resilience—and its limits.

Spending years immersed in active, outdoor pursuits shaped my understanding of how crucial bodywork is for recovery, performance, longevity, and promoting long-term well-being.

Now, I bring that insight to my practice. I help clients reconnect with their bodies so they can continue doing what they love—whether that is exploring the outdoors or simply moving pain-free in daily life.

Christine Carter

Therapist

With a background as a nurse and ongoing studies in anatomy,
physiology, and biomechanics, I have a deep understanding of the body’s
structure and function. This knowledge enables me to address injuries and
chronic soft tissue symptoms, supporting your body’s natural ability to heal.

My approach to bodywork is rooted in balance—releasing tight
tissues first, then activating underused muscles. This creates a more
integrated system, allowing you to move through life with less pain and strain.

I bring clinical experience into every session, combining
assessments, problem-solving, and intuition to guide the work. My client
approach is calm, slow, and precise, designed to help you better understand
your unique body. You will leave feeling grounded, connected, and empowered. I
particularly enjoy working with clients who are oriented towards growth and
seek a deeper connection with their authentic selves.

Juel Elsas

Therapist

I believe that the body and mind hold untapped potential for self-healing, and I am your champion for change as we dissolve tension, rewire old patterns, and reclaim space for a pain-free body and a still mind.

My journey into this work began with my own reckoning—I pushed, achieved, and burned out in the corporate world; I ignored my body’s signals until it finally forced me to listen. That breakdown became my breakthrough, igniting my mission to help others tune into their bodies and their nervous system.

For me, bodywork is more than relief—it’s a reclamation. It’s a way to reconnect with the wisdom of the body and a reminder that no one is broken: you are strong, whole, and capable. My goal is to help you reclaim yourself as you restore, realign, and rise to move (and live) with ease.

Trish Alba

Therapist

My bodywork sessions are slow, intentional, and deeply
restorative. I specialize in addressing areas of tension, overuse, and
imbalance through a therapeutic approach that blends focused deep tissue techniques with mindful presence.

Each session is a collaboration designed to help your body release holding patterns, calm the nervous system, and reconnect with its natural ability to heal itself. I work with the body by responding to its signals and encouraging change from within. My goal is to create space for
both release and relaxation, so you leave not only feeling better in your body
but also more grounded and at ease.

I am passionate about helping people stay active and moving with ease throughout their lives, as longevity is something I am rooted in and strive for. Whether you’re seeking relief from chronic tension, recovering from repetitive strain, or simply wanting to care for your body so it can carry you through what you love to do, I aim to provide a session that supports your long-term mobility and assists the body’s innate capacity for balance and renewal.

Ashley Aardsma

Master Dry Needling

I am a movement specialist by trade; doctor of physical therapy by license! I have been certified in dry needling since 2021 and am almost done with my spinal manipulation certification (testing Dec 2024). My undergrad was a B.S. in education and kinesiology and has helped me with educating my patients about their bodies more than I could have imagined. As a PT that emphasizes movement analysis, I use my observational skills and my biomechanical knowledge to determine your impairments and deficits, which is a bunch of medical jargon for figuring out if the joints are moving well, if the right muscles are contracting at the right times, and if there is weakness or imbalance affecting your movement. I practice what I preach with prescribing movement (mountain biking, hiking, exploring, aerial silks, gym workouts) on a regular basis to help keep me young. I am also an xD1 Women’s Rugby player! I unfortunately had career ending surgery before my final season, however, the experience has offered me consistent first hand learning that helps me treat my patients in a move holistic way related to movement.

For all my life I’ve known that I enjoy caring for people and that I find the human body to be an incredible and confusing feat.

I went to school and studied Biological
Anthropology, where I had the opportunity to study anatomy and, more
specifically, osteology. It was in these classes that I was first exposed to
the incredible power of the human muscles and bones to adapt. After nearly a decade in corporate America doing one-on-one client care I knew that I had a greater ability to help people in an impactful way.

Now, I am able to apply my deep interest in and understanding of the human body to my trained skills as a massage therapist to affect transformational change. With time and patience I know we can work together to identify root causes of chronic pain, range of motion impingements, and soothe a reactive nervous system.

My goal is to release pain, never to create it. This may look like quiet regulation to soothe an activated nervous system or an open
line of communication during active release work on deep tissues. When clients get off my table they should feel more settled in their bodies, experience less pain, and greater ease of movement for weeks to come.

Abe Kennard

Therapist

My focus is helping clients create lasting improvement in their bodies through intentional, consistent care. I specialize in deep tissue bodywork that addresses the root causes of discomfort—working with fascia, muscle tension, and long-held patterns rather than just surface-level symptoms.

In our sessions, you can expect thoughtful, targeted work based on how your body has adapted to stress, injury, and daily movement patterns over time. I don’t believe in quick fixes. Real change comes from understanding those patterns and putting in consistent work to shift them.

My intention is to support you in building a stronger, more functional relationship with your body—so you can move better, feel better, and maintain those results long-term.

Marianna Webber

Therapist

Becoming a student in the world of bodywork has been a tribute. How can we show up for others if not for ourselves? Through my initial massage program and now continued education
courses, I am still further training myself in this mindfulness. I am able to show up for others because I am showing up for myself.

My focus is to not only support your journey with care and change, but to celebrate the decision to invite deeper connection to your body whilst building a routine that gratifies you. I believe
touch should remind us of nourishment and compassion. My intention for our sessions is finding your rooted pain, and patiently teaching your muscles to release and strengthen. Our shared
goal will be to keep you happily able to harbour your passions for months and years to come. Massage is one of my passions. I keep strong foundations of learning the anatomy of the body,
soothing the systems within, and reigniting kinetic movement fit for you.

The enhancements I have been learning, the practices I hold myself to are a continuation in my life to host the ability to give authentic massage. This is a priority, as well as a complete medley of knowledge and curiosity to relieve the feelings of emotional and physical bounds. Invest in yourself, you are worth it!
